New Vernacular Home
This small house combines traditional forms derived from neighboring houses with lofty, contemporary interior spaces and details. Large windows grouped at the corners of the house create an open and airy feel and bring light into the two-story living room, kitchen and loft above.
Historic School House
This distinctve 1860′s schoolhouse was renovated to the Department of Interior’s Standards for Historic Preservation and converted to two apartments, each occupying an entire floor. Original features and finishes were rehabilitated to preserve the historic character of the building.
Shingle Style Home
Horizontal roof lines with deep overhangs gracefully connect the many volumes of this distinctive house and anchor the house to its surroundings. Rooms on the second floor derive their shape from the gabled roof.
Timber Frame Bar
Inspired by Vermont’s vernacular farm structures, this timber-framed building contains multiple functions. In the dance studio, timbers & pine boards create a warm and inviting atmosphere, while adding detail to the lofty space. The horse barn is more rustic; rough-sawn timbers form horse stalls below & a hay loft above.
Rustic Retreat
This small cabin sits at the edge of a meadow overlooking the Green Mountains. Simple forms combine with rustic elements to create distinctive guest quarters which include a bedroom, living room, kitchenette, bath and loft. Hand crafted railings of beech twigs add interest both inside and out.
Hillside Home
Nestled in a hillside, this timeless home is a unique blend of materials, both new and salvaged. Textured plaster walls, antique oak floors, and hemlock timbers compliment colorful, custom cabinets and doors, salvaged light fixtures and antique fittings. An artfully composed stone fireplace serves as the focal point.
